I was born in a small town in Ashi, India. I got married in 1987 and moved to the United States in 1989. After finishing pharmacy school in Boston, Massachusetts in 1993, I moved to Terre Haute, IN with my family. I worked as a pharmacy intern at Hooks Pharmacy on Poplar.
I received my pharmacist license in December 1993 and that is when my career began. I worked at the same pharmacy for 15 years and eventually became pharmacy manager. During that time, Hooks turned to Revco and then to CVS. I also worked as a pharmacy manager at WallMart for 2 1/2 years.
I have always wanted to own my own pharmacy, so when this building became available, I was motivated and took this opportunity.
It was very convenient that the building was already a pharmacy which made the transition very smooth. I wanted to serve the community and provide the best pharmacy service.
When we were trying to come up with a name for the pharmacy, after much thought, we decided Hoosiers Prescription Shop would be appropriate. I wanted the pharmacy to provide for Indiana residents and the local Terre Haute community.
